Clinically, he treats adults with chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions with an interest in treating adults with hypermobility spectrum related disorders. His approach is patient centred, combining evidence with individual experience.
John’s research work spans evidence synthesis, biomechanical and laboratory-based studies, and applied clinical research, with the aim of improving how exercise is prescribed, measured, and translated into meaningful outcomes. He has particular interests in chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions, and in addressing methodological gaps in the measurement and reporting of foot and ankle strength and function.
